When you log in to cPanel you'll see the main dashboard. This guide explains what's on it so you can quickly find what you need.
The search bar
At the top of the page is a search box. This is the fastest way to find a tool. Start typing (for example, email, backup or ssl) and matching tools appear instantly.
Tool sections
The main area groups tools into sections. The most useful ones are:
| Section | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Email accounts, forwarders, autoresponders, spam filters and email deliverability. | |
| Files | File Manager, FTP accounts, disk usage and backups. |
| Databases | Creating MySQL databases and users, and phpMyAdmin. |
| Domains | Adding extra domains and subdomains, redirects and DNS (Zone Editor). |
| Metrics | Visitor statistics, bandwidth and error logs. |
| Security | SSL certificates, two-factor authentication, IP blocking and password-protected folders. |
| Software | PHP version and settings, and app installers such as Softaculous or WP Toolkit. |
| Advanced | Cron jobs, custom error pages and other technical tools. |
| Preferences | Your password, contact details and language. |
The right-hand panel
General Information shows your cPanel username, primary domain, the server's IP address and your home directory. You may need these details when setting up an FTP program or pointing a domain at us.
Statistics shows how much of your plan you're using, including disk space, bandwidth, email accounts, databases and domains. If a bar turns orange or red, you're close to a limit.
Logging out
Click your username in the top-right corner and choose Log out. Always log out when using a shared or public computer.
