Creating a new email account Print

  • 0

You can create professional email addresses on your own domain, like [email protected], in a few clicks.

Create a mailbox

  1. Log in to cPanel and go to Email › Email Accounts.
  2. Click + Create.
  3. If you have more than one domain, choose the right one from the Domain menu.
  4. Enter the Username, which is the part before the @ (e.g. hello).
  5. Under Security, choose one of these:
    • Set password now: enter a password or click Generate.
    • Provide alternate email: cPanel emails a link to another address so the mailbox owner can set their own password. This is handy when setting up an account for a colleague.
  6. (Optional) Click Edit Settings to change the Storage Space. We recommend a set limit (e.g. 2–5 GB) so one mailbox can't fill your whole hosting plan.
  7. Click + Create.

The new address will appear in the Email Accounts list. From there you can:

  • Check Email: open the mailbox in Webmail.
  • Manage: change the password or storage limit, or delete the account.
  • Connect Devices: get the settings for Outlook, Apple Mail, phones and other apps.
Note: Mailboxes use the disk space on your hosting plan. Keep an eye on the storage bar and delete old mail, or raise the limit, if a mailbox gets close to full. Full mailboxes can't receive new mail.

Deleting an email account

Go to Email › Email Accounts, click Manage next to the address, scroll to the bottom and click Delete Email Account.

Important: Deleting an account permanently deletes all of its emails. Back up anything you need first.
